Beirut, June 2022: areeba has appointed Mr. Hassan Mayassi as its new Group Chief Commercial Officer. Mr. Mayassi’s experience in the regional e-payments industry encompasses a broad range of skills in the acquiring business, collaborative relationships, revenue profit and growth, products diversification, consensus building and people management.

Maher Mikati, areeba’s CEO, said on this occasion: “with over 30 years of accomplishments and a distinguished career in the payments card industry across the Arab region, Mr. Mayassi brings a wealth of experience into his new role. He will oversee all aspects of the company's business development and plans across the region.”

A Computer Science graduate, Mr. Mayassi has occupied several senior management and executive positions. Since 2020, he was the Middle East & Africa CEO of 4th Wave Inc. Canada, based in Bahrain, where he focused on enhancing revenues across the value chain. Prior to that, he was Group CEO for Acquiring Business at Arab Financial Services (AFS) – Bahrain, where he played a key part in developing and sustaining revenue and profit gains within a highly competitive regional merchant acquiring market. He also was the CEO of Emerging Markets Payments - Amman Jordan (Part of EMPH Group) where he played a vital role to partner with Governmental bodies on the main national strategic projects such as Bill Payments and Mobile Payments.
